Howdy,
My question is this: are the old books worth anything?..
I have a 1984 SCOWC (Krause) book that I bought at a used book store for only a buck yeah can you believe that.
And also does anyone of a website where I can get some prices for a couple of sliver coins and bars?.
Thanks to all who reply.

Howdy! For the 20-year-old-catalog, I don't know if there is any demand or value for it. I'd check on eBay and see if any are being sold or being bid on. Some people probably collect these, who knows!? As for the coins you need to find out values for, I would check one of your local libraries to see if they carry the new Catalog. Here in Las Vegas, the 2 local libraries always have the new edition, so any time I need to look up a coin it is easy. But if you need to find out the value for a non-Krause coin, then try searching Google for that coin; perhaps some coin-dealer has a web-site which lists that particular coin, and you can see what the price is.

The coins that I am looking to determine a value for definitely not going to be In the Krause book. (I will post some photo’s of the coins soon once.) Take Care.

Boy, those top 2 might be tricky. I'd go to the coins section on ebay, and then enter just the "bullion" section. Then use some words that appear on the actual coin to see if any of the search results match your coin. The top one has more words "symbol freedom 4004 liberty", but the 2nd one just has "liberty one dollar". By going on Google, you may find some coin dealer that specializes in bullion rounds, and he might know.

~~~~ Question: Do any Unrecognised States sell Silver Coins?
Hi Richard,
Lots of unrecognised states have produced silver coins.
Hutt River Province, Sealand, Minerva, Atlantis and Freedonia are a few that spring to mind.
Hutt River has produced many dozens of them, including some huge 6oz ones.
See the Hutt River catalogue in the coin library for more info.
eBay is your best bet for buying them.
Now another question: How many Unrecognised States have made Pure Gold coins by that I mean like not platted or anything but Pure fine gold? And if they have made Pure Gold coins where do they get the money to back the Gold coins?
well I knew about Hutt River because I just looked at your site and I was not sure about Sealand.
How much do they run for? as in price range?
I might want to get one someday.
A couple of other gold ones that come to mind are Celestia and Trebizond. Like silver, the gold coins are intended strictly for collectors. I gues Damanhur actually has used their silver pieces, but most others are just for "show". The new Republic of Texas Gerah is an oddity; it's silver, but it's tiny. I wonder if at one point the Citizens will actually begin using this coin and future coins. But for the most part, it's all for collectors, to raise $. So I'm not sure if these coins need to be backed by silver or gold; they're not really backed by anything at all. Collectors buy them and the producer tries to recoup his or her costs and make a profit. Now in the case of NORFED, which is an unique example, I guess they do have a vault full of precious metals in Coeur d'Alene. This is an "alternative currency" so there are more strict "guidelines" which may apply, or else people wouldn't "buy in" to their philosophy.
Most of the gold coins I've seen for Hutt River and Sealand on eBay are in the $90-150 range.
The early 1970s ones from Hutt River are worth closer to $350 each.
There are also the gold Celestons from Celestia, but they're pretty hard to find.
One of my biggest extravances was paying $600+ for a single Hutt River coin made of palladium.
