Since a couple of months I (Davidovic Dean) am the proud owner of an island in Second Life. The island was created in March by Linden Lab. To celebrate this birth, there has been minted a coin (by Alan Trammell, Pressed Metal - Canada). "25" so called "friendship coins" in silver, and "50" in nickel, both of L1$ nomintation. Some of the nickel ones will be offered for sale at Ebay within a couple of weeks. The silver friendship coins are for non-commercial interchange only. Details : - 1" diameter - .050" thick (1.25mm) - Smooth edge - Finish - Proof Like - 6 grammes (nickel) / 7.5 grammes (silver) The nickel version of the coin can be seen here : davidvg.hyves.nl/fotos/78220298/0/YS9u/X,Y - 1058, 1160 is the location of the island on the big Second Life grid. Below the "1" nomination you find "SL" mintmark. The Linden dollar is the official currency in SL, and this coin is accepted on Tender Island. Reverse side of coin shows our family (coat of) arms. It depicts a Nothern Gannet (Morus bassanus), in Dutch named a "jan-van-gent". The pose of the bird on the shield represents that of the heraldic bird "Merlet". A bird without paws and bill/snout. A second nickel SL Tender Island L$1 is now on eBay. Item # 180141730987. cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180141730987Some added info : This is a so called Second Life Island 3 type. It measures 65,536 square meters (about 16 acres). Building on the island, includes above the island. There has recently been "built a castle in the air" with a sky box on top of one of the 4 towers, and a "romantic garden in the clouds", also called the Elysian Fields of Tender Island. Round the lake in the middle of the island you find all kinds of constructions and entertainment. Regards, David
