About half an inch in diameter, these .999 silver brakteat coins weigh around .4 gram. The first minting is 100. The Anan Munan Ylha story details a winter storm producing waves that washed away sand to reveal an old house, long forgotten. As excavation happened during the summer of 2010, a clay pot, sealed with wax, was opened to reveal a stash of several hundred coins thought to be the first coins ever made on Anan Munan Ylha. The coins are true to the era (1393 is the year the first coins were minted according to historical records). The coins, cleaned with lemon juice and buffed to a shine, appear almost uncirculated to lightly circulated. Picture at www.bluewatersmint.com. The coin die created by Greg Franck-Weiby, who minted the coins on his table top screw press. The coins became available the evening of February 14, 2011.
