Blue Waters Mint has issued for September 2012, a 1 Tang, a 4.8 gram 17 millimeter copper coin and a 9 Tang coin of 1/10th ounce of .999 silver. The coin design is incredible. Kjelshus Collins in Oklahoma City asked what i wanted and I said I didn't know. I suggested he read the Pura Palu'e story and see if he had any ideas. Tom Maringer at Shire Post had told me he had some 5 gram copper blanks but I really wanted 4.8 grams because the Tang, introduced in the Dutch East Indies in 1658 was a 4.8 gram copper version of the silver Maldives Larin. Tom weighed the blanks and lo and behold, 4.8 grams, right on the money! Mintage on these is 360 in copper and 360 in silver. You can see the coins and read about Pura Palu'e at www.bluewatersmint.comPura Palu'e has no leaders and no earthly government but they believe their ancestors watch from the stars above. As a peaceful society, they believe violence, anger, greed, power and jealousy are evil emotions that can, whether felt while awake or in dreams, can subject the person, family and even the village to punishment if action is not taken. Two angry neighbors will depart from one another until the anger subsides, commonly leaving their village to protect their families and village. Kids run free with no discipline although they can be 'managed' by a threat of causing thunder. Thunder is a warning of punishment for doing the wrong thing.
