Greetings!
For the movie Metropolis, director Fritz Lang spent tons of money (probably equivalent to a blockbuster movie's expense) in set design, props, and special effects. My understanding is that this included realistic looking Metropolis Marks in 100 and 500 Mark denominations. Does anyone have any additional information? I have a pretty poor image of some of the bills, but no further information.

These notes would probably be highly collectible today, given the film's belated recognition as a masterpiece.

Oh; I misunderstood; I thought there may have been a coin; so it is banknotes, then. We'll keep our eyes open!

Sorry! Yes, they were notes, probably designed to look similar to contemporary German currency. I'm pretty sure at one point there was a small collection of them in a private collection in Europe. I don't know if any have hit the general collector market.
